Be Happy!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Today is Day 4 of Motivational March and my goals for today were simply be happy and smile often.

Somtimes we get too caught up in the negative or superficial aspects of our lives and we don’t appreciate the simple things.

I recently purchased this Topshop shirt that has rainbow stripes and the words “Be Happy” on it.

This was a great investment for me because it’s a reminder that everything is going to be ok and that I need to take things one day at a time.

I paired my shirt with simple black leggings and teal Vince Camuto chunky heels.

Let my #ootd be an inspiration to you this week. Be Happy!

Paris Fashion Week Inspired Photoshoot

In honor of Paris Fashion Week (pfw), since I can’t physically be there i had my own pfw inspired photoshoot.

20170929_100931It’s still warm for Fall here in Baltimore so I went with a summery look under a jacket that is perfect for Fall weather.

My crop top is from an online designer named Rhiverxx. The shirt says Melanin Goddess which I love because it embraces my love for being a beautiful, strong, black woman.

20170929_100944

The croptop is lightweight and has a racerback. I also love it because, as you may not notice from the pictures, I can go braless while wearing it!

Paired with my top I wore black shorts with a white floral print. I purchased them from Forever 21 on sale for only like 5 bucks!! A great deal if I do say so myself.

20170929_100810

The sandals that I am wearing are from Payless, an affordable store with some stylish shoes!

The duster/bomber jacket is from the lovely Zendaya’s clothing line, Daya by Zendaya. This rose gold color was definitely on trend this summer so I wouldn’t be surprised to see it make its way into fall clothing as well.

20170929_100832

Since I was channeling paris fashion week vibes, I tried out a few different poses and angles and I think the shoot turned out quite well.

Sometimes you have to imagine yourself in the environment you eventually want to be in at some point in your life. Just because you couldn’t make something happen this year doesn’t mean give up on your dreams or goals.

20170929_100906

I’ll be at Paris Fashion Week one day, whether modeling clothes, being a stylist for the models, hosting the backstage action or the show itself, or maybe being one of the designers. I may not be exactly sure where I will end up, but I know my future is bright.

Keep envisioning yourself where you want to be. Live life to the fullest. I believe in you!

Enjoy your Sunday lovelies!

Tropical Sundress on a Sunday

Happy Sunday!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, I’ve worked the entire weekend unfortunately, but I did get a chance to go to a baby shower and take the fab pictures seen in this post.

20170816_095002

I love dresses because they are breezy, flirty, and super comfortable. In the front this tropical floral print dress looks like any other traditional sundress, but in the back is where all the fun is!

20170816_095036

The straps, even though they are very hard to put on lol, give this look an edgy side. And they are adjustable so you can make them as long or short as you need to.

I paired the dress with blue sandals and also tried a couple of new poses. What do you all think of this look and my model-esque poses. Leave a comment below and let me know!

Enjoy your week and don’t work too hard loves!

Dressing Room Chronicles

Good morning! I hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far!dc1

My week has been extremely productive. I have been working on achieving a few of my smaller goals while getting closer to my bigger goals.

One of my goals for 2017 was to start blogging weekly and so far I can proudly say that I am meeting that expectation!

Today’s post focuses on a unique outfit I put together recently. When wearing this outfit, I went to a few different dressing rooms to see where I can get a great shot, hence the title being “Dressing Room Chronicles.”

My look: I wore a high neck, floral print, crop top from Nordstrom Rack.  A pair of gray joggers from Forever 21 and for my shoes, floral print Vans!

dc2

Wearing sneakers is definitely out of the norm for me, but the floral pattern gives the shoes a chic edge which I loved.

The joggers allowed me to stay comfortable, while the crop top let me show off my creative side and the Vans helped tie the look together…no pun intended!

I’ve always been a big fan of print mixing and matching. My crop top and shoes are floral patterned, but differ in the size of the flowers and the colors. I think that it still worked out quite nicely together!

I don’t wear makeup often, but when I do definitely make sure I put on lipstick! I wore a red lip from the Burt’s Bees collection. Also, I tried a new pose to give me a touch of street chicness to my look.

What do you all think of this look? Leave a comment below to share your opinions and have a great weekend lovelies ❤

Turtlenecks & Headwraps

Some days you just want to be cozy and casual, and there is nothing wrong with that! My casual looks are still pretty stylish in my opinion, so today I am showcasing a simple, chic look. I paired a red patterned head wrap with an oversized turtleneck sweater.

Check out the look below!

Jersey Bomber Jacket

At heart, I am a total preppy, dressy, girly-girl, but every once in a while I like to step outside of the box and wear something a little more sporty.

I recently invested in a jersey bomber jacket which I love! It is a gorgeous cream color with white and black stripes on the bottom, collar, and sleeves.

I purchased this lovely jacket from a cute store called Charlotte Russe. I paired the jacket with black Calvin Klein jeans and rainbow converses…those shoes are amazing!

Can you believe that we are almost halfway through October already? I feel like Christmas and 2017 will be here before we know it!

Today’s post will be in more of a lookbook style. I recently did a photoshoot which went well.

I wore a green floral crop top, neon pink joggers, and brownish-orange sandals. See photos from my shoot below!

I was in a Fashion Show!

The weekend that recently passed I was in a fashion show! I got to pick the theme and pull an outfit together to rock on the runway.fs2

Since I love weddings, I decided to go with a bridal theme. I wore my old graduation dress from highschool, which is actually a real wedding dress!

I then accessorized the look with a veil and a fake flower bouquet. I wore black chunky heels and a beautiful pearl choker necklace.

I wore a little bit of makeup, which is new to me, but something super fun to dabble in every once in a while! I had on Covergirl BB Cream, rose blush, and bold red lipstick.
fs

I decided to go with my fro out instead of puffballs. It’s a simpler look that I felt went well with my theme.

For the event, I  had to perform a talent. I love acting and improv so I did a memorized version of Tyra Banks yelling at Tiffany Richards on the elimination episode of ANTM Cycle 4. It was a lot of fun!model

I designed my own gloves from a t-shirt that was given to me by the fashion show coordinators. This show was partially for fun but also a big deal! (pardon the bad quality of the picture to the right, I was in motion!)

Based on my photoshoot, talent I performed and how I worked the runway, I have a chance to get a job in the modeling, film, and/or tv industry. The first place prize gets a year long contract which is an agreement to try and find a job for me in one of the industries mentioned above.

Professional agents will look over everything that was filmed (photos, talent, runway) and on September 10th I find out if I am the finalist for the prize. Wish me luck ❤
