Be Happy!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Today is Day 4 of Motivational March and my goals for today were simply be happy and smile often.

Somtimes we get too caught up in the negative or superficial aspects of our lives and we don’t appreciate the simple things.

I recently purchased this Topshop shirt that has rainbow stripes and the words “Be Happy” on it.

This was a great investment for me because it’s a reminder that everything is going to be ok and that I need to take things one day at a time.

I paired my shirt with simple black leggings and teal Vince Camuto chunky heels.

Let my #ootd be an inspiration to you this week. Be Happy!

A Pep Talk with Yourself

I felt like dressing up a bit today so I went with this professional-chic look.

20171003_100436

I paired a black pinstripe blazer with a black fit and flare dress, and black booties. Yes, it’s a lot of black but is still chic and simple.

I prefered keeping the blazer unbuttoned to show off the dress more. These ankle booties are definitely on trend for fall this year along with embroidered booties and thigh high boots.

Todays outfit made me think of the quote, “dress for the job you want, not the job you have.”

With a huge change coming at the end of this month, I’ve been thinking a lot about goals and what I want to achieve in life.

Wearing this outfit made me feel empowered, strong, and like I can achieve anything I set my mind too.

Every once in a while you have to have a pep talk with yourself to get you motivated and inspired again. I hope this read made you want to chase after your goals full force.

Wonder Woman – Empowering, Emotional, and Inspirational

Last night, I had the pleasure of seeing an early showing of Wonder Woman with my boyfriend Shawn.

This movie gets a 10/10 for more! It was truly amazing. Superhero films may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but this wasn’t just a film about a superheroine.

Wonder Woman touched on women’s rights, the truth about war, racism, sexism, and so much more. Gal Gadot stunned in costume and as an actress. She played a truly believable, kick-butt, strong and determined Wonder Woman. In short, she was a BOSS!

The soundtrack was engaging and aesthetically pleasing, never a dull moment in the plot, and of course had it’s fair share of twists and turns. I just wanted to give a shoutout to this movie here on Coral Buttons to motivate you to go out and see it!

If you need some inspiration, a kick in the butt to get you going with some goals or situations you are facing, go see this movie! You will be able to see parts of Wonder Woman displayed in your own life ❤

Have a lovely weekend everyone and go see the movie, you won’t regret it!

Turtlenecks & Headwraps

Some days you just want to be cozy and casual, and there is nothing wrong with that! My casual looks are still pretty stylish in my opinion, so today I am showcasing a simple, chic look. I paired a red patterned head wrap with an oversized turtleneck sweater.

Check out the look below!

Jersey Bomber Jacket

At heart, I am a total preppy, dressy, girly-girl, but every once in a while I like to step outside of the box and wear something a little more sporty.

I recently invested in a jersey bomber jacket which I love! It is a gorgeous cream color with white and black stripes on the bottom, collar, and sleeves.

I purchased this lovely jacket from a cute store called Charlotte Russe. I paired the jacket with black Calvin Klein jeans and rainbow converses…those shoes are amazing!

Posing in Plum

Hello my beautiful readers! Happy Monday and I hope all is well 🙂

Recently, I had two really random realizations. Hope you caught that awesome alliteration in that previous sentence btw lolIMG_20160826_140054

First realization: I don’t own much purple!!! I didn’t realize it until I had to work an event this past Saturday and my internship supervisor asked me to wear purple. I said “No problem, I have purple.”

As I scanned my closet, I realized…I don’t really have purple!! I have one pair of purple jeans and that’s all and that was pretty weird and amazing to me. So I invested in a causal purple and white tank top and a plum bodycon dress pictured in this post today.

Second realization: I do the same poses in all of my pictures!!! If I really want to break into the fashion world, which I do, I have to work on my poses. So I practiced a few in the mirror and I really like the one pictured above right.

IMG_20160825_062800In the picture, I am wearing my plum sleeveless bodycon dress mentioned above and I paired the dress with black Steve Madden pointy toe flats. I decided to do a little more with my arms so I ran my hand through my fro and snapped the selfie. Pretty decent pose if I do say so myself ^-^

These 2 realizations may not seem like a big deal but they were both pretty cool discoveries! So hopefully you will see more purple hues in my pictures in the near future and some more really creative poses.
