Teal Takeover

I’m excited for today’s post because I get to talk about my favorite color, teal!

In case you have no idea what teal is, it’s a gorgeous shade of blue-green.

I love teal because it looks great on literally everything. Teal clothes, jewelry, shoes, even hair, are all gorgeous.

My OOTD is a lovely, teal and floral crop top paired with teal cropped trousers and white flats. I love the sleeves of this top because it resembles the ones seen on a kimono.

This top was an affordable $17 from Nordstrom! My trousers were $20 from ASOS and have a side zipper which I love much more than the traditional front zipper and button combo.

My flats are also from Nordstrom and cost around $25. I love the bow detail on them!

Teal is just one of those colors I feel looks great on me! It’s the perfect shade to match my complexion and hair.

What’s your favorite color and how do you think it looks on you? Let me know in the comments below and have a lovely week!

Visiting La Brea Tar Pits!

Hey everybody!

These past few days in LA have been scorching hot, only 90 degrees and above!

20180606_140423

When it’s hot and sunny, it’s great weather to explore . Recently, I visited La Brea Tar Pits. The Tar Pits are a fossil excavation site along with a museum.

20180606_125829

You learn about California’s history, prehistoric creatures, fossils, and nature. It’s interactive, family freindly, and definitely worth going to if any of the topics I mentioned previously interests you.

20180606_142802

Pictured above is a mural showcasing the numerous animals, now extinct unfortunately, that surived and thrived before us.

My boyfriend Shawn and I, also went to a 3D movie that was playing at the museum called “Titans of the Ice Age.” I learned a lot of new fun facts; it was definitely informative and exciting.

We also walked around outside of the museum to visit the various tar pits where excavations are taking place to this day. Excavations occur when scientist and paleontologist go down into the tar pits and dig up the fossils of dinosaurs, mammals, birds, and sometimes even humans.

For this bright, sunny day I wore yellow pants that fit similarly to joggers.

I paired my yellow pants with a black, wrap top and checkered slip-on Vans. It made for a sporty chic look.

The lush flowers and trees around the museum made for a perfect backdrop.

What do you think of this look? And please visit the La Brea Tar Pits if you are in the LA area, you won’t regret it.

Have a great week lovelies!

Little Red Dress From Express

Happy Monday, hope your week is off to a great start.

Today’s featured look is a little red dress from Express. This is actually the dress I purchased for my college graduation 2 years ago and it still fits great and is in perfect condition.

20180407_182729

I’m obsessed with the side cutout detail on this dress because it adds just the right amount of sexy. I paired this dress with my Topshop mules for a simple, sophisticated look.

20180407_182858

I found this wooden structure in a walkway near my job and I had to get a picture in front of it. I like choosing artistic backgrounds for my pictures because i feel like the scenery is just as important as the pose and outfit.

20180407_182841

Of course, the wooden structure allowed me to try new poses as well which was fun. What do you think of this look and background?

Be Happy!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

20180304_102455(1)

Today is Day 4 of Motivational March and my goals for today were simply be happy and smile often.

Somtimes we get too caught up in the negative or superficial aspects of our lives and we don’t appreciate the simple things.

20180304_102248(0)

I recently purchased this Topshop shirt that has rainbow stripes and the words “Be Happy” on it.

This was a great investment for me because it’s a reminder that everything is going to be ok and that I need to take things one day at a time.

20180304_102314

I paired my shirt with simple black leggings and teal Vince Camuto chunky heels.

Let my #ootd be an inspiration to you this week. Be Happy!

Stay tuned for more Motivational March posts and let me know in the comments below if you are down to take the challenge as well.

Cherry Top and Distressed Jeans

Happy Monday! Hope your week is off to a great start.

20180203_182256

Today, I wanted to showcase an outfit that I’m really excited about. This look is so special because this is the first time I’ve worn distressed jeans.

Growing up my mom and granny said there wasn’t a point in buying jeans with rips because I can make them holey myself, which is actually a great point when you think about it.

20180203_182247

But with distressed jeans trending, along with the frayed/unfinished hem jeans look on the rise I had to invest in at least one cute pair.

It helped that these jeans were a $17 steal online at ASOS. I paired my jeans with a button up shirt from Topshop.

20180203_182235

I love love love this top. It’s funny because I don’t even like cherries, but the shirt was too cute to pass up and it was on sale! To complete the look, I wore red mules, also by Topshop.

I will be getting a lot of use out of my new button-up and distressed jeans all spring and summer long. What fashion trend are you currently rocking or staying far away from?

Highlights from Hawaii

From the title you can clearly see that my boyfriend and I went to Hawaii on our vacation!
The specific island we went to was Kauai, also known as The Garden Isle because it is know for all of its beautiful natural sights such as waterfalls, canyons, mountains, and more.
Kauai, Hawaii is so beautiful! Below you will see a timeline of all of the exciting activities we did. Enjoy!

Friday:

Our first day of actual activities was very exciting. We booked a tour with Rainbow Tours to see Secret Falls. To get to the waterfall we had to kayak on the Wailua River and hike through a rainforest. Secret falls is 125 feet tall and beautiful. The journey was definitely as exciting as it sounds!

Saturday:

We were tired from the kayaking and hiking the night before but we still wanted to get out of the hotel and do something fun. We went to Coconut Marketplace to explore the unique shops.

We also decided to go get a couples massage at a quaint shop called Spa by the Sea which were amazing!

Sunday:

We went snorkeling at Poipu Beach! This was super scary at first because, unlike my boyfriend who is an excellent swimmer, I cannot swim at all. Luckily, our tour guide from Zodiac/Z-Tours gave me a life vest so I could snorkel properly. This was both of our first times snorkeling which was pretty exciting. It was amazing to look underwater and see all the different fish, urchins, and corals.

Monday:

Our last day in Kauai 😦 But it was still a very awesome day because I rode a horse for the first time! We went to CJM Stables where we had the chance to hop on horses and see parts of Kauai some natives have never seen. I had a lovely and very hungry horse named Dutch.
We rode our horses all over the magnificent South Shore. We rode on the beach and past gorgeous valleys and saw amazing mountain ranges. It was definitely a perfect way to end our trip!

Hello Fall, Goodbye Summer!

Yesterday was the first day of fall for 2016 ! Fall is my second favorite season after spring. I get to wear over-sized sweaters, warm patterned leggings, and break out the cute boots I haven’t seen since last winter.

Instead of an outfit shot today, I put together a little fall mood board. This is just a few things that gets me excited and inspired for the fall.

fall-moodboard

Fall trees: the red and orange trees signify change is coming and change is a positive and neceesary thing. I am welcoming change this fall.

Lipstick: you have to pamper yourself every once in a while. I don’t wear makeup often but when I do, gorgeous lipstick is a must. And this color is perfect for fall.

Sweater and booties: helps you stay warm and walk through all of the storms and chilly weather fall brings. And look stylish while doing it!

Cookies and a warm drink: makes me think about being cozy and comfortable. Every once in a while you have to take a step back from your busy life and enjoy the little things.

I hope my moodboard is as motivational and inspirational to you as it is to me. Try creating one of your own and let me know how it goes! ❤
