A Pep Talk with Yourself

I felt like dressing up a bit today so I went with this professional-chic look.

20171003_100436

I paired a black pinstripe blazer with a black fit and flare dress, and black booties. Yes, it’s a lot of black but is still chic and simple.

I prefered keeping the blazer unbuttoned to show off the dress more. These ankle booties are definitely on trend for fall this year along with embroidered booties and thigh high boots.

Todays outfit made me think of the quote, “dress for the job you want, not the job you have.”

With a huge change coming at the end of this month, I’ve been thinking a lot about goals and what I want to achieve in life.

Wearing this outfit made me feel empowered, strong, and like I can achieve anything I set my mind too.

Every once in a while you have to have a pep talk with yourself to get you motivated and inspired again. I hope this read made you want to chase after your goals full force.

Daya by Zendaya Bomber

Hello lovelies!

I apologize for the delay on this look, it was suppose to be up on my blog way sooner but here it is.

I have to say this is one of my favorite looks ever and its super simple to put together and comfortable.

daya 1

I purchased the blush bomber  from Daya by Zendaya. A clothing line started by the outspoken, inspirational, and beautiful Zendaya Coleman.

Not only did I want to support her because she is an amazing role model and a black business owner, but also because I never saw a bomber as chic as this one. Her prices are also affordable!

daya 2

The color is gorgeous and it is long! Leave it zipped for a chic look in itself or if you leave it open its a perfect jacket to throw over almost anything…dresses, a top and skirt/pants, or how I wore it.

daya 3

I paired the bomber with a black crop top from Charlotte Russe, black leggings from Forever 21, and black boots from Nordstrom.

Head over to dayabyzendaya.com to check out this bomber and other stylish gear!

Fall Fashion Wishlist

wishlistWe are just about right in the middle of fall. The pretty leaves are falling to the ground and the weather is getting a bit chillier.

These are a few items I really need to have in my fall wardrobe collection. How many of these do you own?
plaid flannels
Plaid flannel

I don’t know why, but I just really love flannels, but I don’t own any yet! Flannels can be dressed up with a cute skirt, tights, and tall boots or dressed down with a pair of jeans and flats. Not only can they be worn by themselves, but they also make for a perfect layering piece under a jacket or coat.

lipstickFall colored lipstick

As the weather gets cooler, I believe that your lipstick should get deeper and darker. Fall colored lipstick consists of deep shades of red, orange, brown, and even dark purple. I have my eyes on some dark purple lipstick this fall because I would love to try something new.sweater leggings

Sweater leggings

Luckily I can cross this one off of my wish list. Sweater leggings are not only colorful and comfy, they also keep your legs really warm. They are perfect for the fall when paired with a sweater or cardigan and they will even keep you warm and cozy during the winter months.

boots Tall boots

Tall boots literally can be paired with any and every thing. You can wear them with dresses, skirts, pants, leggings, and the list goes on and on. Tall boots come in a variety of colors such as browns, blacks, grays, and beige. They also come in a variety of lengths where some can stop above the knee, others on the knee, and some a little below the knee. It’s your preference!

 Puffball beaniepuffball beanies

This isn’t really a necessity for the fall, but they are just super cute! They are perfect for those lazy hair days and can add adorableness to almost any look. They also come in a  variety of colors and styles.

I hope you consider adding some of these items to your fall wish list if you haven’t brought them already.

Enjoy the rest of your lovely weekend and happy fall! ❤

Bear with Honey

Unfortunately this post isn’t about bears and honey, but my outfit featured today is filled with shades of tans, browns, and yellows and those colors made me think of bears and honey; hence the title Bear with Honey ^-^

I am currently on spring break from college…yay! It is still snow on the ground, so technically this is like my second winter break from college rather than a spring break.

Since I’m on break, I get time to actually relax a little and enjoy time with my family and boyfriend. I also got the chance to go to church and this post will feature the outfit I wore to church today!

I am wearing a white tank top and a multicolored scarf, paired with a black and beige color-blocked pencil skirt. Pencil skirts are perfect go-to pieces. You can wear them to church, an interview, to work, and even on a date.

Under my pencil skirt I am wearing white knit, patterned stockings. These stockings are perfect for chilly, winter or fall days because they are super warm and still look fashion forward.

Over my tank top I am wearing an over-sized, mustard yellow colored, popcorn knit cardigan. This cardigan is loose, so it is super comfy. It has five brown buttons on the front and patch pockets as well.

As for my shoes, I am wearing one of my favorite boots! They are brown, lace up boots, and the toe and heel of them are golden and sparkly.

I almost forgot about my jewelry and lipstick! I wore two pearl bracelets and my brown, Coffee Craze lipstick…simple and chic ❤

I hope you enjoyed this brown, yellow, and tan filled post! And sorry if you were expecting bears and honey! ^o^

Boots, TOMS, and Chucks! Oh my!

Wearing chic and unique shoes is a great way to add a touch of personality to your outfits.shoes2

Today I am giving you a look into my world of stylish, colorful, and sparkly shoes. I love all of the shoes in my closet, but a few of my favorites are my boots, TOMS, and Chucks.

For those of you who don’t know, Chuck Taylor is considered to be the face of the Converse brand, so “Chucks” is a nickname for the shoes. For all of you who did know, give yourself a pat on the back.

Now let’s take a look at my

My Brown, Sparkly Boots!

unnamed        2

Last year, I bought these boots for $30 from Delia’s. When I was younger, I called boots like this “rough girl boots” because they looked less girly and more tomboyish. I really love the sparkles lining the backs of the boots and at the toe. These boots pair well with an oversized sweater and skinny jeans and they are perfect for the fall weather.

My Cowboy Boots!

8

I’ve always wanted cowboy boots because they are super cute, stylish, and out of the norm. They are brown, leather, and have a small heel. Even with a heel, they are still very comfortable to walk around in. My lovely boyfriend purchased them for me for $75 at Bakers. My cowboy boots look really nice with a summer dress or with jeans and a button up.

My Glitter TOMS!

5

My black, glitter TOMS look gorgeous when the sun hits them because they sparkle and shimmer. These TOMS can be dressed up or down and that’s why I love them. They were bought at a quaint shop in downtown Frederick called Velvet Lounge.

They were on sale for $20 and that was a great deal because TOMS aren’t cheap! TOMS is an awesome brand because buying a product from them helps raise money for someone less fortunate. The brand’s motto is “With every product you purchase, TOMS will help a person in need. One for One.”

My Rainbow Chucks!

43

I love these Converses. They have multiple, rainbow tongues and they have rainbow shoe laces. I’ve had them for about five years now and they still look pretty good.

One reason why I love Chucks is because when they get old and weathered they still look stylish. I got these from Journeys, but I don’t remember the price. If you look on Journeys’ site, they may still have them!

I hope you enjoyed this little look into my shoe world. Now go out and teach someone the word Chucks!

Fall Fashion at Forever 21

Forever 21 is one of my favorite clothing stores. The clothes there are not only stylish and colorful, but also affordable!Forever21-400x253

As we all know, the fall weather is slowly creeping up on us. Nobody wants to get sick, so when the weather gets colder, layers have to be worn.

If you think that wearing layers will make you look frumpy or unflattering, think again. There’s a lot of fashionable fall clothes at Forever 21 that will keep you warm and looking fabulous.

If you plan on going shopping for a new fall outfit, it would be a great idea to buy tall boots, leggings, and sweaters! I own all three articles of clothing and I can definitely say that they are perfect for the fall weather.

My oversized, green sweater.

My oversized, green sweater.

I brought a green, oversized knit sweater at Forever 21 and it is my favorite sweater. It not only keeps me from catching a cold, but it is also comfortable.

Oversized sweaters are usually loose fitting, long, and made of knit. They are perfect for chilly fall days.

You can lounge around in the house with them or you can go to Starbucks and buy a latte in them. Whether you are in the house or out and about, I think that sweaters look best paired with jeans or cute leggings.

Leggings are probably the article of clothing that I have the most of because you can literally pair them with anything. I’ve worn them with shirts, jackets, sweaters, and even dresses.

I prefer patterned leggings, but solid colored leggings work best for creating an outfit.
