Visiting the Love Wall in Beverly Hills

Valentine’s Day is almost here so I recently went to Beverly Hills to get a pic in front of the super artistic and gorgeous Love Wall.

The wall makes for a perfect backdrop for a Valentine’s themed post. To visit the wall, I wore a cropped Topshop sweater paired with highwaist jeans from ASOS. I completed the outfit with sparkly TOMS.

I love that there is so much street art scattered all throughout LA. I hope to share some more pics in front of creative street drawings in the future!

Sometimes holidays make people feel lonely and sad because they either don’t have anyone to celebrate with, the holiday brings up bad memories, or a multitude of other reasons.

I’m here to tell you about a little mantra that helps me get through rough times that I learned from a Youtuber and that is Positive Mental Attitude.

Repeat that a few times and it will help you get into a better and happier mindset. So if you are alone on Valentine’s Day or in a long distance relationship remember to stay strong and focus on the positives in your life currently. Have a good day!

Last month of 2017!

It’s December! The last month of 2017 has arrived. Can you believe it?

This month I am focusing on self love and care. As the year comes to a close and holiday season approaches everything can seem overwhelming.

20171201_135339

Take time this month to reflect on the positive things that happened to you this year. If you didn’t meet all the goals you wanted to meet this year that’s ok because next year you can push harder, work faster, and you can get it done.

Don’t give up on yourself and don’t hesitate to take time out each day or each week this month to meditate and reflect on 2017.

20171201_135655

In this post, you’ve seen 2 new pieces in my wardrobe! I purchased these items as a self care moment, I’ve been working hard and haven’t shopped in a while so I decided to splurge a bit.

The 2 new items are my Topshop denim jacket and lavender Asos pants! I paired the jacket and pants with a mesh vneck top by Lycra, and my go to comfy black TOMS.

Make time this month to do something you love and enjoy because self love and care is important and should be practiced every day.

Ways to practice self love and care:

1) Meditate with music or in silence

2) Try a new activity to expand your horizons (yoga, hiking, acting classes)

3) Treat yourself to a spa day

4) Shopping trip

5) Watch a childhood movie you loved watching growing up

6) Write a list of 10 things you love about yourself or 10 things you are good at

7) Drink more water

8) Say positive affirmations everyday (I am intelligent, creative, etc)

Hope you use some or all of these tips this month. Take care lovelies!

What I Wore Wednesday

Happy hump day! I hope your week has been great and productive so far.

20171127_123650(0)

Today, I am showcasing an outfit I wore to work recently. As some of you may know, I currently work at Nordstrom and specifically in the Young Contemporary department also known as YC.

YC consists of three subcategories/brands: Savvy, Brass Plum/BP, and Topshop. Savvy has special occasion items such as dresses, jumpsuits, and blazers.

BP, a Nordstrom exclusive brand, has everyday wear such as sweaters, tshirts, blouses, and jeans. BP also carries dresses, but are more casual than the Savvy dresses.

20171127_130506

Topshop, one of my favorite brands, carries a mix of BP and Savvy-esque items. It is a trendy, low price, but high fashion brand.

Topshop carries everything from leather jackets, to sequined dresses, to embroidered jeans, to fur vests! Anything trendy and up and coming in the fashion world Topshop has.

Working in YC allows me to dress more casual than I would have to dress if I was in another department, but also allows me to be trendier. The outfit seen throughout the post definitely represents what YC is all about.

20171127_130507(0)

I paired a Forever 21 Rugrats bodysuit with super comfy green cropped ASOS pants. To add more color to this look and accent the colors on my bodysuit I wore a lightweight linen Halogen cardigan as a layering piece.

To wrap up my look, I paired the outfit with red TOMS. What do you think about this look? And I hope you learned something new about YC brands!

Have a wonderful rest of your week lovelies.

Embrace your ever-changing style

Happy Fri-yay! Excited for the weekend??

Im off today so I will be catching up with some friends from college, which I am excited about! Today, I am showcasing my Caslon sweatshirt dress!

20170913_100807I paired a red lip and red TOMS with the dress to give the charcoal gray a pop of color.

Ive not so secretly been obsessing over this dress ever since I saw it at Nordstrom, where I work in case ya didnt know. 🙂

20170913_100819(0)It was $79 when i first saw it which is pricey for me. Im a bargain shopper for sure.

So I patiently waited almost 2 weeks for it to go on sale. So the sale price in addition to my employee discount got me this amazing dress for only $27. A steal!!

What I love about fashion and style in particular is that you can definitely see how your style has progressed and changed over the years. As you get older and go through different stages in life your style changes and matures.

20170913_100834Im saying this because honestly a few years ago I would never have purchased and definitely not worn a dress like this. Growing up, my idea of fashion was always having to dress up and look super feminine and cute in order to be stylish.

Now I’ve learned that you can dress semi-casual or completely casual and still look flawless and fashionable. Im glad that I learned this in my late teen years because now at 22 I feel more stylish and beautiful than ever.

Remember fashion is ever changing and you can always reinvent your style. As long as you feel beautiful, wear what you want and wear what you love.

20170913_100854Have a great weekend lovelies!!

New Look, Most Complimented Item, and a Word of Advice

Is there one item in your closet that seems to get an outstanding amount of compliments? I know there has to be at least one piece that does every time you wear it!
For me, that’s this blouse that I purchased in South Korea over 3 years ago. Its lightweight, sleeveless, sheer and the collar is accented with gold triangles to give it an
elegant touch.

1

I paired this blouse, with pink joggers, and black lace TOMS. Overall, I would consider this more of a dress down look for me, simple and chic, with a dash of sportiness. Also, in case you haven’t noticed from the pictures, I have another new hairstyle!

This style is called feed-in braids, because the hairstylist “feeds-in” or blends my natural hair with the fake hair to create this gorgeous look. What do you think about it and would you try this look out?

2

Now, this post isn’t to brag about my shirt or hairstyle, it simply came to fruition based on a thought I had yesterday when I wore this shirt to work and everyone seemed to ask where I got it from, how much it cost, etc. It is one of my favorite pieces because it is one of the few items I have in my closet that I purchased overseas.

The important information I would love for you to grasp from this post is don’t let your clothes be the only definition of what makes you you. Don’t hide behind fancy clothes or an outlandish style in order to hide your true self.

3

Having an unique sense of style isn’t a problem, I love my eclectic style. But I also know that when I dress down in a t shirt and leggings, I am still beautiful, strong, and I should still feel like myself.

Don’t let your clothing mask your true self; let your clothing speak volumes and add to the beauty and great personality that is already there. Hope that this encouraged you on this lovely Hump Day. Enjoy the rest of your week lovelies!

Love the skin you’re in

My words to you: Love Yourself!!!IMG_20160711_123435

With all of the negativity in our world today, it is extremely important to love and take care of yourself.

Don’t worry about materialistic things and don’t focus on what you did wrong, missed out on, failed at, etc.

Look at yourself everyday and say “You are beautiful, amazing, intelligent, successful.”

Sometimes it’s hard to stay focused, determined, and positive when it IMG_20160711_195823seems like the entire world is against you, but you can do it.

This post is meant to inspire and uplift. Recently, I wore a dashiki shirt and I felt so in touch with my black culture and I felt so comfortable in my own skin.

I paired my dashiki with black skinny jeans and red TOMS.I also still have my long twists, so I decided to add dread beads to them on the same day I decided to rock my dashiki.

Every once in a while you have to get back in touch with your roots and truly love the skin, body, mind, and spirit God blessed you with.

So I know it’s hard to live in this world and during this age but remember…You Got This!!!

Love, Tati ❤

Boho Chic

Happy May everyone! The weather is gorgeous here in Maryland!

bohoI can finally lose all of those layers! Next week is final exam week and on Tuesday I am out for my summer break! I am so excited 🙂

It is also supposed to be in the 80’s next week so I am looking forward to that as well ❤

This outfit is inspired by the lovely weather and imagining I am on a lovely tropical beach.

My boho chic outfit comes in many parts. The multicolored pattern skirt I am wearing is actually a dress.

boho chicI rolled the uppermost part of the dress down and tucked it behind my woven brown belt. I then paired my new skirt with a denim and lace button up shirt.

I tucked my shirt in my skirt and viola, a stylish boho chic outfit. I paired this outfit with blue lace TOMS.

I wore my hair in my wavy hairstyle and added a silver studded headband to it for a touch of sparkle!

You all know I love my pearls, so I wore a pearl necklace, pearl bracelets, and pearl earrings with this outfit.

What does your boho chic outfits look like? Leave a pic or comment below to show off your chic look ❤

Boots, TOMS, and Chucks! Oh my!

Wearing chic and unique shoes is a great way to add a touch of personality to your outfits.shoes2

Today I am giving you a look into my world of stylish, colorful, and sparkly shoes. I love all of the shoes in my closet, but a few of my favorites are my boots, TOMS, and Chucks.

For those of you who don’t know, Chuck Taylor is considered to be the face of the Converse brand, so “Chucks” is a nickname for the shoes. For all of you who did know, give yourself a pat on the back.

Now let’s take a look at my

sign

My Brown, Sparkly Boots!

unnamed        2

Last year, I bought these boots for $30 from Delia’s. When I was younger, I called boots like this “rough girl boots” because they looked less girly and more tomboyish. I really love the sparkles lining the backs of the boots and at the toe. These boots pair well with an oversized sweater and skinny jeans and they are perfect for the fall weather.

My Cowboy Boots!

8

I’ve always wanted cowboy boots because they are super cute, stylish, and out of the norm. They are brown, leather, and have a small heel. Even with a heel, they are still very comfortable to walk around in. My lovely boyfriend purchased them for me for $75 at Bakers. My cowboy boots look really nice with a summer dress or with jeans and a button up.

My Glitter TOMS!

5

My black, glitter TOMS look gorgeous when the sun hits them because they sparkle and shimmer. These TOMS can be dressed up or down and that’s why I love them. They were bought at a quaint shop in downtown Frederick called Velvet Lounge.

They were on sale for $20 and that was a great deal because TOMS aren’t cheap! TOMS is an awesome brand because buying a product from them helps raise money for someone less fortunate. The brand’s motto is “With every product you purchase, TOMS will help a person in need. One for One.”

My Rainbow Chucks!

43

I love these Converses. They have multiple, rainbow tongues and they have rainbow shoe laces. I’ve had them for about five years now and they still look pretty good.

One reason why I love Chucks is because when they get old and weathered they still look stylish. I got these from Journeys, but I don’t remember the price. If you look on Journeys’ site, they may still have them!

I hope you enjoyed this little look into my shoe world. Now go out and teach someone the word Chucks!
