What I Wore Wednesday

Happy hump day! I hope your week has been great and productive so far.

Today, I am showcasing an outfit I wore to work recently. As some of you may know, I currently work at Nordstrom and specifically in the Young Contemporary department also known as YC.

YC consists of three subcategories/brands: Savvy, Brass Plum/BP, and Topshop. Savvy has special occasion items such as dresses, jumpsuits, and blazers.

BP, a Nordstrom exclusive brand, has everyday wear such as sweaters, tshirts, blouses, and jeans. BP also carries dresses, but are more casual than the Savvy dresses.

Topshop, one of my favorite brands, carries a mix of BP and Savvy-esque items. It is a trendy, low price, but high fashion brand.

Topshop carries everything from leather jackets, to sequined dresses, to embroidered jeans, to fur vests! Anything trendy and up and coming in the fashion world Topshop has.

Working in YC allows me to dress more casual than I would have to dress if I was in another department, but also allows me to be trendier. The outfit seen throughout the post definitely represents what YC is all about.

I paired a Forever 21 Rugrats bodysuit with super comfy green cropped ASOS pants. To add more color to this look and accent the colors on my bodysuit I wore a lightweight linen Halogen cardigan as a layering piece.

To wrap up my look, I paired the outfit with red TOMS. What do you think about this look? And I hope you learned something new about YC brands!

Have a wonderful rest of your week lovelies.

Stripes and Curves

Last weekend, I wore a striped bodycon dress to my little brother’s graduation. It was an exciting event!

I paired my bodycon dress with rust orange sandals. I love this dress because the colors are great year round and the pattern makes it unique.

Not only are those factors true, but I think the dress is quite flattering. Bodycon dresses are meant to be fitted and show off your curves.

Don’t be ashamed to wear fitted dresses and don’t let anyone tell you you can’t wear one because of your body shape!

We all have body insecurities and parts of us we may not like as much as others. Embrace your curves, love your body, and stay stylish!

Dressing Room Chronicles

Good morning! I hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far!dc1

My week has been extremely productive. I have been working on achieving a few of my smaller goals while getting closer to my bigger goals.

One of my goals for 2017 was to start blogging weekly and so far I can proudly say that I am meeting that expectation!

Today’s post focuses on a unique outfit I put together recently. When wearing this outfit, I went to a few different dressing rooms to see where I can get a great shot, hence the title being “Dressing Room Chronicles.”

My look: I wore a high neck, floral print, crop top from Nordstrom Rack.  A pair of gray joggers from Forever 21 and for my shoes, floral print Vans!

Wearing sneakers is definitely out of the norm for me, but the floral pattern gives the shoes a chic edge which I loved.

The joggers allowed me to stay comfortable, while the crop top let me show off my creative side and the Vans helped tie the look together…no pun intended!

I’ve always been a big fan of print mixing and matching. My crop top and shoes are floral patterned, but differ in the size of the flowers and the colors. I think that it still worked out quite nicely together!

I don’t wear makeup often, but when I do definitely make sure I put on lipstick! I wore a red lip from the Burt’s Bees collection. Also, I tried a new pose to give me a touch of street chicness to my look.

What do you all think of this look? Leave a comment below to share your opinions and have a great weekend lovelies ❤

Summer Ready

6 days ago was the official first day of summer! So exciting!IMG_20160613_134805

I am more of a spring girl, but I do love bright, beautiful summer days as well. With summer here, that means extra hot days.

As the days get hotter, the clothes get shorter….appropriately of course!

IMG_20160614_100033Today, I paired a mint and floral crop top with high-waist, lightwashed jean shorts. I love this top because the colors are very bold and bright.

My shorts are actually my first pair of high-waisted items I brought. I love that I can dress the shorts up and down depending on what top I pair with it.

To finish off my look I wore a pair of Steve Madden black ballet flats.

Don’t melt in this summer heat and enjoy your summer everyone!

How To Wear: Marsala!

It’s 2015, so that means that there is a new color of the year! Pantone’s Color of the Year is Marsala!

Now if you looked at the word “Marsala” and thought what the heck does that color look like, you are not alone! I had no idea what Marsala was until I read more about it and looked at pictures.

Pantone describes Marsala as “a naturally robust and earthy wine red.” Since you now have an idea of what color Marsala is, let’s look at how to wear this elegant color.

Marsala Earrings

These Marsala chandelier earrings are extremely high fashion. Adding these elaborate dangling earrings will take any outfit from basic to sophisticated. You wouldn’t even need to pair these earrings with a necklace because the earrings alone make for a gorgeous accessory.

Marsala Dress

This dress is definitely a show stopper. Its a party dress or night out with the girls dress.  Pair this dress with sparkly pumps or stilettos and it would be a perfect, fun, and flirty outfit. When you wear this super sparkly dress, all eyes will be on you. The Marsala color also adds a touch of elegance and class to this dress.

Marsala Nails

I love polishing my nails and I really love nails with designs on them. In the picture, a variety of designs are shown, such as Marsala in bloom, which is a Marsala coating with white flowers painted on it. Another design is Marsala Chevron, which is a Marsala coating with a white chevron design on it. Marsala Stripe is a Marsala coating with white stripes on it. And the final design is Marsala Mirage, which is my favorite and is a white coating with Marsala circles of varying sizes on it.

Marsala Shoes

The second sparkly item on this list are these awesome Marsala shoes. They look like oxfords, but have a nice white wedged heel added to it. You can wear these shoes with a chic cardigan, a button up, and jeans to create a preppy look. You can also wear these shoes with a pant suit or a skirt and blazer to crest a stylish professional look. The possibilities of how you can dress up or down these shoes are endless.

Marsala…Dog Bowtie??

I think it is super cute when people dress up their pets. I want a male Yorkie and when I get him I am definitely dressing him up in chic dog clothes. I would love for my dog to wear this pretty Marsala bow tie. Maybe for a special occasion such as his birthday or if he is part of a wedding party, but he would definitely be the talk of the (dog) town if he wears this. Add a cute little top hat and your pet will look even more adorable.

I hope you enjoyed this Marsala filled post! See what other pictures you can find that shows off this gorgeous color!
