3 Month LA Update!

I’ve been living in Los Angeles for 3 months already! At times it is still surreal to think that my boyfriend and I packed up and moved across the country but it’s so real.

We celebrated our first Christmas and New Year’s Eve in LA and the first one away from our familys. It was a bittersweet moment.

I was excited to be celebrating in our new home and excited to be living in LA, but of course I missed my family. I called them all and talked to them about my plans for the holiday and got a little emotional but ensured them that I am still loving the decision to move here.

Thinking about the journey to LA

Both New Year’s Eve and Christmas were very low-key and relaxing days. We made a nice dinner and enjoyed tv and movies and just spending the holiday together. Also, as you may have noticed from one of my past posts, I experienced my first few rainy days in LA.

As I mentioned in the “Rainy Day” post previously, I am a pluviophile so I love and find peace and joy when it rains. If you know anything about LA or California, you know that we don’t get a lot of rain here so I was happy to see some rainfall especially since the air and plants get really dry here.

We also explored a new area, Griffith Park where we went up into the hills and visited an observatory, saw the hollywood sign in the distance, and saw an amazing sunset. More details of that adventure can be found here.

The weather here is great, it doesn’t feel like winter at all which is weird but nice. Overall, we are healthy, happy, and making the most out of our time here.

The goal is to explore much more of the city in the upcoming months and make more memories that will last forever.

Turtlenecks & Headwraps

Some days you just want to be cozy and casual, and there is nothing wrong with that! My casual looks are still pretty stylish in my opinion, so today I am showcasing a simple, chic look. I paired a red patterned head wrap with an oversized turtleneck sweater.

Check out the look below!

Bear with Honey

Unfortunately this post isn’t about bears and honey, but my outfit featured today is filled with shades of tans, browns, and yellows and those colors made me think of bears and honey; hence the title Bear with Honey ^-^

I am currently on spring break from college…yay! It is still snow on the ground, so technically this is like my second winter break from college rather than a spring break.

Since I’m on break, I get time to actually relax a little and enjoy time with my family and boyfriend. I also got the chance to go to church and this post will feature the outfit I wore to church today!

I am wearing a white tank top and a multicolored scarf, paired with a black and beige color-blocked pencil skirt. Pencil skirts are perfect go-to pieces. You can wear them to church, an interview, to work, and even on a date.

Under my pencil skirt I am wearing white knit, patterned stockings. These stockings are perfect for chilly, winter or fall days because they are super warm and still look fashion forward.

Over my tank top I am wearing an over-sized, mustard yellow colored, popcorn knit cardigan. This cardigan is loose, so it is super comfy. It has five brown buttons on the front and patch pockets as well.

As for my shoes, I am wearing one of my favorite boots! They are brown, lace up boots, and the toe and heel of them are golden and sparkly.

I almost forgot about my jewelry and lipstick! I wore two pearl bracelets and my brown, Coffee Craze lipstick…simple and chic ❤

I hope you enjoyed this brown, yellow, and tan filled post! And sorry if you were expecting bears and honey! ^o^

Get the Look: Turban Head Wrap

Today I am starting a new segment called “Get the Look.” My “Get the Look” posts will demonstrate how all of my beautiful readers can recreate an outfit or accessory I am wearing.

The “look” for today is the Turban Head Wrap. Let’s find out how to get this look!

Step 1: Grab a scarf equivalent to the length of your body.
I am 5’7 and my scarf almost touches the ground when I hold it vertically from my face, so the scarf has to be super long!

Step 2: Lay the scarf across your head, with the two sides of the scarf being as close to equal as possible.
Yes, this step does look a little funny, but it will all make sense soon!

Step 3: Grab the two sides and bring them to the front of your head.
Seems simple enough, right?

Step 4: Take the two sides you brought to the front and twist them around each other.
One side in front of the other. Over and over again until you run out of scarf to twist.

Step 5: Take your twisted part and wrap it around in a swirling motion.
Make this as tight or as loose as you wish. The tighter the swirl the bigger the front part will be.

Step 6: Now you are all done and it looks lovely!

And for all of you visual learners, here is a video that can help break down the steps for you.

I hope you enjoyed my first ever “Get the Look” post. Try out this style and tell me how it turns out or leave a picture in the comments to show me how beautiful yours turned out!! ^-^
