New Look, Most Complimented Item, and a Word of Advice

Is there one item in your closet that seems to get an outstanding amount of compliments? I know there has to be at least one piece that does every time you wear it!
For me, that’s this blouse that I purchased in South Korea over 3 years ago. Its lightweight, sleeveless, sheer and the collar is accented with gold triangles to give it an
elegant touch.

I paired this blouse, with pink joggers, and black lace TOMS. Overall, I would consider this more of a dress down look for me, simple and chic, with a dash of sportiness. Also, in case you haven’t noticed from the pictures, I have another new hairstyle!

This style is called feed-in braids, because the hairstylist “feeds-in” or blends my natural hair with the fake hair to create this gorgeous look. What do you think about it and would you try this look out?

Now, this post isn’t to brag about my shirt or hairstyle, it simply came to fruition based on a thought I had yesterday when I wore this shirt to work and everyone seemed to ask where I got it from, how much it cost, etc. It is one of my favorite pieces because it is one of the few items I have in my closet that I purchased overseas.

The important information I would love for you to grasp from this post is don’t let your clothes be the only definition of what makes you you. Don’t hide behind fancy clothes or an outlandish style in order to hide your true self.

Having an unique sense of style isn’t a problem, I love my eclectic style. But I also know that when I dress down in a t shirt and leggings, I am still beautiful, strong, and I should still feel like myself.

Don’t let your clothing mask your true self; let your clothing speak volumes and add to the beauty and great personality that is already there. Hope that this encouraged you on this lovely Hump Day. Enjoy the rest of your week lovelies!

Dressing Room Chronicles

Good morning! I hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far!dc1

My week has been extremely productive. I have been working on achieving a few of my smaller goals while getting closer to my bigger goals.

One of my goals for 2017 was to start blogging weekly and so far I can proudly say that I am meeting that expectation!

Today’s post focuses on a unique outfit I put together recently. When wearing this outfit, I went to a few different dressing rooms to see where I can get a great shot, hence the title being “Dressing Room Chronicles.”

My look: I wore a high neck, floral print, crop top from Nordstrom Rack.  A pair of gray joggers from Forever 21 and for my shoes, floral print Vans!

Wearing sneakers is definitely out of the norm for me, but the floral pattern gives the shoes a chic edge which I loved.

The joggers allowed me to stay comfortable, while the crop top let me show off my creative side and the Vans helped tie the look together…no pun intended!

I’ve always been a big fan of print mixing and matching. My crop top and shoes are floral patterned, but differ in the size of the flowers and the colors. I think that it still worked out quite nicely together!

I don’t wear makeup often, but when I do definitely make sure I put on lipstick! I wore a red lip from the Burt’s Bees collection. Also, I tried a new pose to give me a touch of street chicness to my look.

What do you all think of this look? Leave a comment below to share your opinions and have a great weekend lovelies ❤

Back-to-School Outfits: College Edition

back to schoolToday ends my first week of my last semester of college!! Yay…light up the fireworks!! ^-^

Now over my 3 1/2 years at college (yes, I’m finishing a semester early) I’ve noticed numerous styles of clothing that students wear.

Whether this is your first semester at college or last one like mine or if you’ve graduated college years ago, we all probably know how college students dress.

This is a list of  clothing items and outfits you must have as you attend college!

College Swag

college shirtsCollege swag is anything from a t-shirt with the school logo on it to shorts with a picture of your school mascot on them. Having these items will show you have pride for your school and when you are off campus you get to show off what school you attend.

In college you have a lot of events that you will have to attend from award ceremonies to meetings with the dean to interviews for jobs. A classy cocktail dress will be appropriate for you to wear to any of those events and you will look chic, fancy, and sophisticated while you wear it.

Chillaxing Outfit jogger set

A chillaxing outfit is anything you can wear that will make you feel relaxed and an outfit you can just chill in. That can be yoga pants and a t-shirt or a jogger jumpsuit or even sweatpants and a hoodie. Everyday at college doesn’t have to be a fashion show. Sometimes you want to just roll out of bed and put on comfy clothes and walk or drive to class. Adding accessories to your chillaxing outfit can add a chicer look to it.

For those nights where you want to go out with your roommates or go to a school sponsored party, you have to look your best! At college you have to go to class and join clubs, but you must also have a little fun. This party dress will help you look fabulous when you go out and can even help you land a date!

Hope these outfits gave you an idea for what to wear and bring to college! Enjoy your weekends and try to have some fun ❤
