Stripes and Curves

Last weekend, I wore a striped bodycon dress to my little brother’s graduation. It was an exciting event!

I paired my bodycon dress with rust orange sandals. I love this dress because the colors are great year round and the pattern makes it unique.

Not only are those factors true, but I think the dress is quite flattering. Bodycon dresses are meant to be fitted and show off your curves.

Don’t be ashamed to wear fitted dresses and don’t let anyone tell you you can’t wear one because of your body shape!

We all have body insecurities and parts of us we may not like as much as others. Embrace your curves, love your body, and stay stylish!

I Graduated!!!

Yesterday morning I got to walk across the stage at Hood College!!FB_IMG_1463335429711 (1)

I finished school is December 2015, but yesterday I officially graduated and I couldn’t have been happier. The weather was sunny and breezy, all of my classmates looked great, we had an excellent speaker, and I got to visit Frederick and Hood College again!

I received my Bachelors of Arts in Communication Arts and my minor was Theatre & Drama. In the photos pictured throughout the post you will see me in my cap and gown, with my boyfriend and family, and in the dress I wore under the gown.

As I mentioned in a previous post,  I plan on working hard to become a fashion reporter and so that’s why I decorated my cap to say “Future Fashion Reporter,” with gorgeous blue and white ribbon.

FB_IMG_1463335419573The dress I wore was red and had a fit and flare style. I paired my dress with black heels and of course all of my favorite pearl bracelets. I also wore black and gold earrings.

On my gown I had a Hood College pin, the white hood, and numerous colorful cords from all of the clubs I participated in.

The speaker, Wil Haygood, gave a lot of inspirational and motivational advice. My favoriteFB_IMG_1463335404836 line he gave was that “sometimes we have to go down in order to get back up.” He also talked about second chances and if things don’t work out the first time, continue pushing for it.

After graduation I got to spend time with my family and eat great food, it was an awesome day 🙂

Remember to always follow your dreams. No dream or goal is unattainable. I believe in you! ❤

I DID IT!!!

The Book of Me: Future Edition

This post is actually a story I wrote for my creative writing class. It is special to me because I wrote about how I envision myself in the future. I talk about my dreams and aspirations for the future and I think it turned out pretty cool ^-^ So without further ado, here is ~~

The Book of Me: Future Edition

Chapter 1: Talking with Tati

micShe is the host of a talk show called “Talking with Tati.” She is standing on stage wearing a strapless coral jumpsuit with a gold belt, gold statement necklace, and sparkly gold shoes. Elle Magazine voted her one of the best dressed hosts on television. One day she interviews musicians and actors and another day she interviews scientists and YouTube stars. She speaks exquisitely about current fashion trends, women’s health and beauty tips, natural hair, and current world events. She isn’t afraid to speak her mind and share her point of view. On every episode she tries to encourage, educate, and inform her fans in some way. At the end of every episode she leaves her viewers with a motivational quote. “Always aspire for greatness. If you believe in it, you can achieve it,” she says as she flashes a big smile and waves goodbye to her audience.

Chapter 2: Glamour Shot

red carpetThanks to her successful hosting career, she now gets an opportunity of a lifetime. She is walking the red carpet. “So this is what it feels like to have dreams come true,” she says in her head as she steps her first silver heel onto the red carpet. She wowed in a teal Versace mermaid gown that she paired with silver chandelier earrings. Her pear shaped frame is perfectly accentuated in the gown. Her silver and gold tattoo jewelry glistens as the bright lights hit them. Her long, curly natural hair bounces as she struts down the red carpet. She looks gorgeous and feels like a movie star. She stops to strike poses as the cameras flash all around her. She occasionally blows kisses at the young girls cheering and waving to her. She’s happy to be a role model for so many girls. She waves like a princess to the cameramen and fans as she gracefully exits the red carpet.

Chapter 3: Her Start

Her red carpet moment gained her even more success. A host asks her onto his show and wants her to speak about how she got to where she is today. She talks of going to college and majoring in communications and finishing a semester early. She speaks non-stop startabout the people she met who helped her along the way. “Reaching out and asking for help is something I had a problem with, but I soon learned how to do it. I am so grateful for the people who helped me,” she says with tears in her eyes. She mentions how she moved from Baltimore to Los Angeles, after her college days and got her “big break” when she ran into a producer looking to create a new show. “I guess I was in the right place at the right time,” she says with a smile.”

Chapter 4: A Normal Life

Even with her luxurious lifestyle of hosting, talking to celebrities, and red carpet homeappearances, she still leads a normal life. She has a loving family that keeps her grounded throughout all of life’s chaos. She has a husband, a scientist by day and a game developer by night. She has one child for now, Caleb, who is three years old. She wants at least 5 more children and she definitely wants to adopt an Asian baby girl. Her family is what motivates her to stay strong and fulfill all of her dreams. She may not be the richest, but she feels the happiest she has ever felt in years. She has a career she loves, a husband who is super supportive, a wonderful son, and many more goals to achieve. She is truly blessed and happy, and that’s all she ever wanted to be.

…This is who I want to be, one day. This is who I will be, one day.
